Summer grill parties are the perfect occasion to indulge in flavorful grilled dishes, and one delicious favorite that steals the show is the mouthwatering grilled beer brats.
Ingredients:
- 6 bratwurst sausages
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bottle or can of beer (preferably a lager or ale)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Mustard, sauerkraut, and buns for serving
Procedure:
- Preheat your grill to medium heat.
- Place the bratwurst sausages and sliced onions in a large aluminum foil pan or a grill-safe skillet.
- Pour the beer over the sausages and onions until they are submerged.
- Add butter to the pan or skillet and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the pan or skillet on the preheated grill and cover it with the grill lid.
- Allow the brats to simmer in the beer mixture for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and have absorbed the flavors.
- Once the brats are cooked, remove them from the beer mixture and transfer them directly onto the grill grates.
- Grill the brats for an additional 2-3 minutes per side to achieve a nice char and crispy texture.
- While grilling, you can also place the buns on the grill to lightly toast them.
- Remove the brats and buns from the grill. Serve the grilled beer brats on the buns, topped with the simmered onions. Add mustard and sauerkraut as desired.
- Enjoy your delicious grilled beer brats as the star of your grill party!
Note: You can adjust the grilling time according to your desired level of char and doneness for the brats.
